We encourage the Haddonfield Town Committee to pass a resolution opposing the construction of 152 Apartments at the old Haddonfield Lumber site next to the Croft Farm nature trails. We ask the Cherry Hill Town Council and Zoning Board to accept whatever the Supreme Court's decision is regarding the appeal of the residents who oppose the project and to not appeal the decision further. Additionally, we respectfully request that the Township reaffirm it's decision to prohibit the construction of residential housing at this location since housing is prohibited in the Cherry Hill Master Plan. The construction of 152 Apartments at the old Lumber site adjacent to Croft Farms nature trails will have many detrimental effects on the trails, wildlife, and the people enjoying them. -It will cause increased traffic that is a hazard for pedestrians, runners, or anyone traveling through the trails. -An additional turning lane may become necessary, and this will be taken out of the trails. -The proposal includes 335 parking spaces that will lead oil and motor fluids into the trails and eventually stormwater will carry this runoff into Evan's Pond. -A mishap while upgrading the water and sewage system could pollute Evans Pond and cause damage in the area. -There will be significantly more trash in the park from residents passing through. -Light pollution from this high-density, over-height apartment complex will negatively impact wildlife, particularly birds and nocturnal species. -There will be increased visual pollution as the building will tower over the trees and become part of the scenery.
