Comments: I think this would be great as the sport is growing at an astronomical rate in people cycling. A it would help the youth of a young age be able to cycle safely. B. people like my self who want to cycle in the afternoon do not have to cycle with the traffic during the day and afternoons. C. Very close and handy for me, what a bonus!

Comments: I am a member of the Dutton Cycles Racing & Recreation Club. This club, only established in 2008, is growing at a fast rate with now over 200 members. Situated at North Lakes it is able to take advantage of the ever-growing population in the area. The addition of a Crit track local to the area will improve the opportunity and variety for club racing away from the Nundah and Murrarie tracks and will compensate for the loss of use of the Lakeside circuit. I support this petition and hope that Moreton Bay Regional Council incorporate a cycling criterium circuit into the recreation package proposed for the land.

Comments: The provision of a criterium track on this land would allow cyclists of varied abilities to learn the 'art' of cycling in a safe situation - there are numerous car and cyclist accidents every day in Brisbane, and if even one death or serious injury could be prevented, it would be well worthwhile. Cycling is the 'in' sport at present and certainly encouraged by all levels of government as a truly 'green' mode of transport and exercise. Support of this criterium Track by the MBRC would be a very popular decision in Local Govt circles, and could well be a 'trend-setter' for other local councils.
