The Committee of Dutton Cycles Racing & Recreation Club Inc, with the support of members, fellow cyclists and the local community named here, request that Moreton Bay Regional Council use the land allocated in the Sports Mapping Project as "playing fields" at Dakabin, for a purpose built cycling precinct.

Petitioners here specifically request a criterium track be developed on this land to provide residents and visitors access to facilities that support this fast growing sport. In addition to regular racing, the crit track would provide the only location in the Council's boundaries for learn to ride classes for adults and juniors, as well as providing an excercise and training facility for cyclists and tri-athletes, all in a safe and traffic free environment.

Petitioners also support the inclusion of Dirt Jumps, BMX Park and/or Mountain Bike circuit on the same site, supporting all forms of cycling.

Should the land at Dakabin not be suitable, the concept of a cycling precinct should move ahead on other suitable land within the MBRC boundaries.
