Enough is enough is enough. How many more children are going to be abducted, sexually assaulted and murdered BEFORE the ultimate and just punishment is justly exacted on the perpetrators of such horrific crimes? Young children are the innocent people of our world with their whole lives ahead of them. They trust the rest of us to look after them, care for them, nurture them and to help them to grow into independent human beings capable of experiencing love, happiness, excitement and fun and sometimes in most of our lives, sadness and unhappiness too. To be deprived of all the wonders that life's rich tapestry has to offer by tragic accident or a terminal illness is nearly the worst nightmare that any parent can imagine. This nightmare can only be surpassed in its horror and revulsion by the acts perpetrated by the likes of the Moors murderers, Ian Huntley and the killer of five year old April Jones. These people do not deserve to be part of the human race, despite all its faults. In the animal kingdom, the sick are dealt with in the way that nature knows best. There is only one punishment that convicted child killers deserve and that is the death penalty. A simple lethal injection. This the ONLY just punishment for such a crime, for the dreadful anguish and suffering that they must have inflicted on the child in their last hours and minutes, something that God forbid I ever have to face. In addition, it will save millions of pounds in having to look after these very sick individuals and having to provide them with 3 meals a day, television, security protection from other inmates and no doubt access to legal representation when their human rights are breached. With DNA and other conclusive evidence now at our disposal, there is no chance of an innocent person being executed. I honestly believe that our society will be more humane and just if the death penalty is reintroduced for this most callous of crimes. If you agree, please sign my petition.
