Do not end this nursery provision - please.Flag

Name: Rebecca Marston on Mar 9, 2007Comments: Nursery accomodation is the biggest issue affecting working women, and there's a massive shortage of it as the BBC itself is continually reporting. Its a scandal that an equal opportunity employer that prides itself on having some of the highest standards of employment should do this. There can be no defence. I do not have children myself but still feel extremely strongly about this. And this in a week when its reported that working mothers suffer the highest levels of discrimination of any group.Flag

Name: Anonymous on Jun 5, 2007Comments: I wasn't surprisd when I read about the nursery closures in Ariel. I worked for the BBC for 8 years, then I had a child and while on maternity leave I was told by the union that as a mother I would obviously not want to pursuit a career therefore it would be better for me to take redundancy. It was a difficult decision but after the many things I've hear from friends still working at the BBC I think that although ill adviced it was a good decision to take redundancy. So, no it doesn't come as a surprise that they are closing nurseries, I think it's just another little scheme by the BBC to put a stop to all those home-work balance benefits they had to introduce. Let's make noise of how good we are to parents and families and when everyone believes it then little by little we will take them away ... no one will notice ... no one will complain.Flag

I for example, went to one of the best uni's in the world with the? government funds, and i wanna believe that relatively more than 90% Batswana who studied out were sponsored by the gov. i also guess one of the few countries where one gets served breakfast lunch @school. We pray to God to help usFlag
