John Richell | The support which we receive from Eastern Angles, Village Screen and Creative Arts East in General provides an ESSENTIAL plank in the social cohesion of our village life, helping to provide funds to make possible other things. Our village Hall in Hindolveston is the central element in the provision of social functions and its existence is seriously helped by the generation of funds through events. Please do not withdraw vital funding from Creative Arts East | Crafts In Action,Hindolveston
Sandra Olive | CAE enabled us as a PTA to bring a range of fantastic performers to the school that we could not have done alone. both children and members of the local community who attended events were able to benefit from experiencing great music, theatre and dance |
Anonymous | I have been an ardent theatre goer and also supporter of arts brought to our villages for many years. With the the now limited availability of cheaper seats at the newly opened Norwich Theatre Royal and the devestating news that funding is being cut to other arts in the region, a huge part of my social life will come to an end. These very diverse productions have always been highly professional and the sell out audiences or all ages, leave feeling thoroughly uplifted. Unfortunately, the present proposals once again confirm the now rightly held belief that the arts is truly elitist. What a dreadful shame. I used to go to the theatre locally at least once a month. It is impossible to travel to larger towns or London to continue my support of the arts. Transport and the cost of tickets is completely prohibitive. This situation is tragic. |
Sandra Smith | We need to value the things we have and fight to keep them. If we lose them then we will have even fewer opportunities for the young and old to be entertained. Adult Education and other groups are also cutting back on recreational activities so we will soon have a generation of depressed, bored "baby boomers" with nothing to get their teeth into which will probably be counter-productive in the long term with many becoming lonely as there is nothing to fill their time. We need more activities - not less - for a healthy, happy life. |
gwenda pandolfi | Swamped as we are by rubbish participation shows on tv, it is so important to let children experience an actual hands on creative experience. We are proud to have something special in our puppet theatre and want to keep the art of puppetry alive and well. |
Major Shreeve | A devastating blow to the Eastern Region and a great loss to many poeple. These cuts must not go ahead. | Creative Arts East
Roger Whittaker | Creativity is a natural and essential aspect of life .. it must never be ignored or devalued. | No
M N Hunter | Eastern Angles and the Puppet Theatre offer a high standard of performance. Rural tours offset rural decline - they should be supported. Puppetry is a valuable tool for engaging the young and channeling their energy constructively. THESE SHOULD BE FUNDING PRIORITIES. |
Ivan Cutting | Like us at Eastern Angles, CAE serves the rural areas of East Anglia. Who is going to take the arts to the isolated communities of this important region? |
Grace Cook | Lifelong member of very small village community who has benefited from high quality performances from Eastern Angles and artists supported by Creative Arts East. We have very little else to show for our taxes, poor roads, poor communication networks and no leisure facilities without long travelling. Cutting the very small amounts given to support the arts feels like a slap in the face. where else can such a proportionally small amount of money have such a large impact on so many people? The money is spent wisely and well and does make a differece. g.Cook |
Anonymous | I really enjoy the Village Screen at Hindolveston and the other arts events that are sponsored by CAE - adequate funding for CAE is really important to rural communities and makes such a difference to our quality of life. |
Dorothy Smith | We frequently use the Arts Round Up distribution services provided by CAE for events we want to promote at The Forum. I don't believe there is another service like it in the area. | The Forum Trust
Anonymous | thanks to a CAE training I was enabled to create a website with the vulnerable young people I was doing voluntary work with. |
sam brooks | The arts collage is relly good and should not get shut down |
hannah hartley | |
| 717 | Miranda Yates | I worked for CAE when it was called Rural Arts East and saw the huge impact its professional events had on rural communities. By axeing CAE 's events, the arts council will be removing a chunk of artistic enjoyment, creativity and community-togetherness that villages of people all over Norfolk and North Suffolk look forward to.
Many villages will be left with no arts provision at all. We are a rural county. To pretend otherwise by focussing funding only on larger, city-based projects does an injustice to the the many thousands of Norfolk people who live in rural communities and want them to continue to have a pulse. | |
Geoffrey Lefever | Norfolk is an impoverished area for the arts and is totally dependant on Creative Arts East.. Any reduction in the present range of activities would return rural East Anglia to the state of a cultural desert. It must not be allowed to happen. | Norwich 20 Group of professional artists
Sally Alexander | |
anne mason | Creative Arts East does inspiring work with and for the rural communities of East Anglia. |
Louise Maclaren | As a practising Artist and tutor who works with socially excluded groups this is a big blow for my business and the groups that I work with in the area of healthcare. |

Mark Hickson | |
Sarah Rendle | This organisation brings vibrancy and inclusion to people living in areas where the arts are not accessible. |
Caroline Dwen | . As a community festival organization we have benefited immensly from cae,s support. | chet valley festival group.
Ian SKinn | Much need and should remain unchanged. | Kettlestone Village hall
Anonymous | |
| 728 | Wendy Dacre | Rural touring is the lifeblood of the arts in rural areas - and the lifeblood of many artists whose delight is to take their art to these places and people.
This is grassroots arts at it's best and deserves support as much as any inner city arts. | Raventales |
