| 601 | Charlotte Arculus | I find it extraordinary that the Arts Council is cutting an organisation with such a historical long term commitment to the area. The sort of connectivity that an organisation such as CAE has in Norfolk can never be replaced. It comes from years of working in an area building personal relationships with communities, organisations and artists.
As to replacing the work CAE does - no doubt the Arts Council prefer the strategy of shipping in yet more ghastly ‘arts professionals’ who will perform more empty, short term, high profile projects before they move on up the arts career ladder gravy train. | Theatre of Adventure |
| 602 | Elizabeth Haines | Ithink it is important that these very diverse events continue especially in such a selection of rural settings. | |

| 608 | Anonymous | I strongly believe that Creative Arts (East) thoroughly deserves support for the work they do in bringing drama & music to rural communities which might not, otherwise, have the opportunity of live entertainment. | |

| 610 | Felicity Devonshire | I would like to voice my support for Creative Arts East as both an individual and as representative of my organisation. CAE is an extremely well run organisation, bringing the arts to rural areas and increasing the quality of lives, both young and old. | St. Lawrence's Centre for the Arts, |

| 617 | Anonymous | I believe this cut to the core grant of Creative Arts East has been done with maximum haste so that fews people will be aware and able to respond in time. This contravenes human rights.
I am extremely disappointed in the government's so-called commitment to communities when cuts like these take place. As well as providing cultural experiences, many CAE activities have educational and social outcomes, inspiring many offshoots, including the formation of interest groups, which in turn affect other members of the community. So one event can lead to many others, more often than not self-funded. The benefits to communities are legion. In 2008 it puzzles me why we have to state the obvious again and again. | |

| 620 | Joan Sandford-Cook | Dont neglect this amazing historical area of England with energetic diverse artists in all activities of the performing arts. East Anglia and its people deserves your support. | |

| 623 | Susanne Rutter | We have had so many wonderful productions sponsored by creative arts east to our village hall over several years. We have filled the hall each time. Many of those attending are elderly and would not be able to get to local towns or city to see such productions. This must continue in order to keep our villages alive and help prevent rural isolation. | Whissonsett Arts |
| 624 | jane senior | please do not make such a cut to the grant. Creative arts for all ages encourages interaction and stimulation to the mind by means of visual and community based means. Live entertainment must be at the top of the list - rather than internet! | Hatfield Peverel Arts Society |
| 625 | George Rutter | As Chairman of Whissonsett Parish Council I would like to support Creative Arts East. Their productions have provided much needed funds for Whissonsett Village Hall and church, and more importantly, provided a warm feeling in bringing together local people, who in many instances, woud not have the chance or perhaps the inclination to go to a theatre or concert hall elsewhere. | Whissonsett Parish Council |

| 627 | Mark Higham | Creative Arts East plays a vital role in the arts in East Anglia. It is arguably the most important arts organisation in the region without which a process of cultural desertification will ensue. It is an excellent organisation carrying out extraordinary work of the highest quality that is, it seems, tragically undervalued by the Arts Council. A view that will hopefully be reversed by some judicious reconsideration, especially in the context of its own rural arts policies. | |

| 631 | Lesley Pegg | Whissonsett Arts has been part of Creative Arts East for 10 years and this has brought amazing professional performance to this very rural community. Many people have experienced theatre, music, art and story telling for the first time. Several villagers are not able to get to other venues because of lack of transport and the financial costs involved.
Cuts would be so backward looking. | Whissonsett Arts |
| 632 | Sally Ridgway | There must be a way that we can safeguard the tremendous work and effort of the people who have made it therir business to provide access to the arts for all and who care passionately about the participation and continued culture of this country. Please find it bfore it is too late!! | NIVAS |
| 633 | Hilda Taylor | We have had some superb productions in our local village hall, supported by Creative Arts East. These have brought together people from many backgrounds, young and old, and have been a focus for community life in this village. Please reconsider this funding issue. | Brundall Memorial Hall |

| 637 | danny Wilson | Please do not cut funding for arts in East Anglia, having worked with and volunteered alongside Creative Arts East and enjoyed many performances at the Puppet Theater i feel that it would be a great loss to regional arts should these cuts happen. Continue to Fund Arts in East Anglia. | |

| 640 | Roy Keasley | Without these grants another valuable service to the rural community will be lost. Politicians should understand that the country side and those in it do exist and do want some performing art in their communities | |

| 642 | richard hanny | Artistic efforts need support from communities. ACE is the best mechanism to provide this support | |
| 643 | TJ Wormald | For the last six or seven years Creative Arts East has provided an invaluable service in creating a community spirit in this small village (Plumstead). | Church Warden |
| 644 | Kate Hayes | I am deeply alarmed by the proposed cuts. As a pschotherapists my concern is that many people are so detatched from their creativity that these acttivities are required to have more not less funding. | |
| 645 | Rachel Beck | | |
| 646 | Susan Astbury | The loss of Creative Arts East would affect all individuals in Norfolk but it would be especially felt by those who live on smaller incomes living in the rural areas where the last bus, if there is one, is at 7pm! | |
| 647 | Anonymous | one more blow for the already stretched local arts bodies and organisations curtailing worthwhile arts activities | Cley Poetry Circle |
| 648 | Maureen Steel | It seems that small organisations are continually being sacrificed for large. When one hears of enormous sums of money being spent on 'art' installations, i.e. elphants, it makes my blood boil. Keep hoping someone will see sense before all the small organisations go out of existance. | |
