As students in Washington and Lee high school we do not have as many opportunities as other schools, due to funding. Many students I have talked to have expressed their desire to play tennis. We have the means, we just need an adults willing to coach, and for the school to approve it. Any extra-curricular activity looks good on a college application. Most colleges even give out Tennis scholarships if you're good. We could practice at RCC using their courts if a deal were made, or at one of the many parks around us. We could even lower the volleyball nets in the gym and create a mock tennis court for practice. Because we do not have the funding students could pay for their own supplies if they really want to play. All you really need is tennis balls, rackets, and some clothes to exercise in. We have schools to compete against, we have students willing to play, we just need the school to be willing as well.
