This is a petition to make Tormead School and Lanesborough School on Cranley Road enforce parking restrictions on parents during the school run. 

There have been countless times when the road and the pavements have become impassable due to the heavy traffic of large vehicles (buses, people carriers and 4x4s). Often parents of the school children will mount pavements, open doors and congregate around key passing points, often blocking the path for pedestrians. Cars that are trying to drive down Cranley Road passing Tormead find that there are parents in large cars cutting across the road dangerously in order to grab parking spots, opening doors without looking, and other potentially hazardous behaviour. 

I for one am sick and tired of it and plan to do something about it – and would like the schools to put parking and waiting restrictions in place and enforce them regularly. 

Please sign this petition – I intend to to the head teachers of Tormead and Lanesborough in the first instance with the results. If there do not offer satisfactory recourse I will continue the campaign to the local council.
