204 Erin Moorei have been a sprint customer since 2003; though I recently moved my service to at&t so i could use a symbian based phone. An accessible phone is something i believe every blind person should have no matter their financial circumstances. i would rather have a Sprint phone, but they make it almost impossible when your options of phones are limited and the cost will be around $800 for both the phone and program. I realize there are less expensive options like the LG Fusic and its successor the LG muziq phone, however these phones are offerd for a short time and quickly discontinued. They are also pricy without an upgrade or rebate running about $300 for only a few menue items that speak. If Sprint wants to keep their blind customers I would suggest they make a deal to offer a screen reading solution like Mobile Speak or Mobile Speak Pocket to see that each of their customers is treated equally and can take full advantage of their services.
205 AnonymousI completely agree with this petition. Sprint can do so much more for their blind/visually impaired customers. The reps do not know anything about accessible phones or programs and furthermore they do not care. They simply refer you to a phone with speech recognition. i have the LG fusic and in college my deaf friends were impressed that the phone even had a TTY mode. Yet none of the text messaging was accessible to a blind user. If Sprint is such a great company, why are they ignoring a whole population of people?
206 AnonymousCurrently, I have the Motorola Q running Windows Mobile 5 and am looking to get a new phone since I have had so many issues with battery life and Windows errors. I work for a campus that has a contract with Sprint so it is in my best interest to be a Sprint customer. I have been disappointed with the lack of options in phones for someone who is blind/visually impaired.
207 AnonymousI am totally blind and have been with Sprint for 8 years. I currently use the PP6800 cell phone. Although, as you with economic hardship, I am not able to purchase the MSP; therefore, I use the demonstration that allows me access for every ten minutes.

215 Victor TruongI totally agree with Eric. I have been a blind Sprint customer since 2003 and now is seriously thinking about changing carriers, because Sprint is not making acquiring an accessible phone more affordable. Their only accessible phones are based on the Windows Mobile platform, like the HTC Touch Pro, which are very expensive for most blind customers. The present cost of such a phone and a screen reader package would be approximately $600 to $700. I hope that Sprint will follow the foot steps of AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon in subsidizing this cost for the blind customers.
216 brian sackriderI used to have nextell phone and a couple of times I I somehow I had my phone in airplane mode and my phone did not work until I I had someone that could see take it out of airplane mode as you know the nenues do not talk.
217 Ana GuzmanI am visually impaired and also a Sprint customer for some time now. I have yet to find a phone that is suitable to my disability. I would like Sprint to make more phones available with speech technology.

221 JoseSprint tries to interest me in a new phone, but each time they do I tell the sales rep. their phone will not help me enough that I would want to begin again to retrain myself with another phone.
222 Renee GodfreySprint needs to design a phone with a keypad and window so that a person with low vision can be able to use his/her phone without assistance. The keypad should be black with large numbers and the window sshould be in bold print and higher constrast.

226 stephan hamptonI am back with another message. Sense the last time i was here i have now changed my phone with sprint, How ever, I have not made any progress as to find a phone whitch is all together all accessable to us. I finaly went and bought a windows mobile plat form and then bought mobile speak. In my case this was the hard way to go but i was between a rock and a hard place. If i had changed to another carier I would have to pay a deposit.. Any way i have found a page for those of you that would like to see what phones they say that are accessable on sprint now. http://www.envisionus.com/default.asp?Section=6&SubSec=75&CID=149 I hope these will work for some of you i have not tested them myself.
