Dear Cox Communications: The undersigned respectfully petition you to add GolTV and Setanta Sports to your digital cable offerings. Currently, Fox Soccer Channel is part of the Sports & News Tier and represents the only dedicated soccer channel on your system. Although other channels offer sporadic coverage of soccer events, both domestically in the US and internationally, there is a need for additional coverage of important domestic and international soccer matches. The large and steady increase in soccer viewership (spurned on no doubt recently by the success of the US Men's National Team, the improved quality of and attendance at MLS games, the success of US players in Europe, and the introduction of international class players to the MLS like D Beckham and C Blanco)should merit a broader coverage of soccer. Although FSC is an excellent channel, they do not have license to broadcast a large number of relevant and important matches. Your soccer coverage would greatly benefit from the addition of GolTV, which is broadcast simultaneously in Spanish and English and can appeal to your Spanish-speaking viewers as well and Setanta Sports.
