" I believe that parents should have the right to be present while their child is being paddled by the school, if we have the right to say whether or not they can be paddled, I believe we should be able to say whether or not we want to be present for it as well. Please help me gain "Our Parent Rights" that we deserve from the County Line School. "

     The reason I ask for your help is because of an incident that occured on December 16, 2010.  On that day my child had thrown a rock at another student at recess, the principal wasn't at school that day, so when I picked my child up from school the teacher informed me of the incident and said we would figure some kind of punishment out for her the next day which was the last day of school before the christmas break and also their party day.  The next day when I brought my daughter to school I told the principle that we had decided that if I watched she would allow them to paddle her, but at first she didn't want to because it hurt so bad that she would rather miss her party.  The principle then said that she would have to go home for the day because she couldn't or wouldn't allow me to watch her be paddled and the Superintendent said that if the Principle didn't want me to watch then he couldn't or wouldn't allow it either.  But if you look in the school hand book or in the School Board policies, nowhere does it state that a parent can't be present, also I later found out from other parents that when their child was paddled they were offered to paddle their child and allowed to watch them be paddled.  Something is wrong there and I hope you will help me make it right, so it doesn't happen to another parent or possibly even you one day!  Thank You again for your support!
