Cost of Public Events in Branford

I am a representative on the Town Meeting for the fifth district of Branford.

There is a yearly discussion at budget time where the costs of Public Events comes up. I would like your opinion on the subject as we head into the budget negotiations.

These events include:

Branford Festival

Branford Road Race

Fire works

Veterans,Memorial Day and Holiday Parades

Currently the current cost of events are budgeted at approximately $121,000 or one tenth of one percent of the total town budget.

I would like to gather your opinions on the subject. This compilation of thoughts, suggestions and concerns will allow us to better understand citizens views.

I will present findings to the RTM during the budget talks.
