When a tenant receives a 72-hour court ordered eviction, and proceeds to trash the apartment and abuse the other tenants of the building - we are told by the local and county authorities that there is nothing they can do..that WE have NO RIGHTS! Emotional anguish is suffered by all in their destructive path and the landlord is left to clean up their mess at his expense. This is wrong and should be STOPPED!! Please sign the petition so that I can take this our New York State Congressman Massa and Governor Paterson. We MUST get laws in place that protect the landlord, other tenants, and see that the careless tenants that have received these evictions, due to non-payment of rent and harassment of neighbors, is stopped. If they chose to be careless and abusive - WE should not have to suffer!!
