    Comments: It would be a terrible loss if the Cornell Cinema were no longer available. The films offered have worth well beyond mere entertainment; they are also useful in educational programming. As a Resident Advisor, I often take residents to the Cornell Cinema to view films. (Last year, for example, I took residents to see "Trouble the Waters," a documentary about surviving Hurricane Katrina in one of the poorest sections of New Orleans.

    Comments: The Cornell Cinema is incredibly important to the culture of Cornell. We are isolated in the middle of nowhere, cut off from any large metropolitan centers--yet we stay in the thick of things because of all the hard work of the Cornell Cinema staff. It would be devastating to the quality of our community if you were to so drastically cut their funding.
