Comments: We have lost so many of our fine buildings in and around Coventry, and we have a duty to protect and maintain the remainder - Copsewood Grange has a history and deserves to be preserved so that this and future generations can enjoy the building and its land

Comments: This was a fine building in good condition 3 years ago, until the rent was raised so high the social club could not remain in the building. It has some interesting features, Historic former occupants, and a Lodge Gate house. The home of the man that founded the Snowden Mountain Railway, and is buried at Binley St Barts Churchyard, should be retained for the future.

Comments: What a lovely building which must be preserved. The ribbon weavers of Coventry were such an important part of our heritage and by 1830 dominated the city's economic structure. There is a lot of research information available to make a museum dedicated to the ribbon weavers, which could be housed in this lovely building. My son Dr Brad Beaven, (now Head of History at Portsmouth University) has published several articles connected to the ribbon weavers which I, who at the time was unaware of their importance to the city, found their social life very interesting. ref: Midland History 1990 VolXV. CUSTOM, CULTURE AND CONFLICT: A STUDY OF THE COVENTRY RIBBON TRADE IN THE FIRST HALF OF THE NINETEENTH CENTURY. Martin Beaven

Comments: To see buildings linked to the heritage of this city being allowed willfuly to fall derelict and open to wanton vandalism is a disgrace. Why is it that large corporations are allowed to let this happen? I suggest the council apply the threst of a compulsary purchase order to force them to take action.

Comments: If this historic building deteriorates any further it will have to be demolished. I am 65 and because my father, his brothers and their father worked for the G.E.C from 1920 - 1976 I was taken there regularly .It was only a few years ago that after his funeral his wake was held at The Grange. The place holds so many memories for so many people while the actual building cries out to be renovated. Protect it with security and make the right decision quickly.

Comments: It has so often been said by old Coventrians like me, that successive councils have been far more destructive than ever Hitler was. Living in Walsgrave for more than 70 years I have been so saddened by the number of beautiful buildings that have been lost in this "village" alone. We will never see their like again. If Copsewood Grange disappears I suppose it will be replaced with some concrete monstrosity, in order to line the pockets of greedy morons!
