Comments: Please abolish suicide causing anti-depressants. There is no need for this to be in our society. The truth needs to be told so we do not loose any more people to this tragic death.

Comments: I was on Prozac for a while and in 2004 attempted suicide. I already had suicidal thoughts but the Prozac took away the inhibition to do it, and I did it. I truly believe the Prozac may have been responsible. I am not on anti-depressants any longer and I have the normal "fear" not to even attempt suicide. I have learned behavioral teckniques to work through the depression stages and have never had to go back on drugs again. We want new drugs for depression, w/out the horrendous side effects!! Doctors, listen up. Don't just prescribe anti-depressants to anyone. Get them to a shrink so he can decide what is right for them. Shrinks, listen up, get them to a pscologist so they can teach them life changes, and behavior modifications. They may not even need drugs at all!! This is a cry for help, listen to us.

Comments: My daughter's life has been ruined by these antidepressants, but her delusion is so strong that she is being sexually assaulted while she is sleeping that she cannot see that it is the drugs causing the problem instead of the sexual assaults that she believes are happening to her. I have been unable to get any psychiatrists to listen to me and they continue to give her the drugs and she continues to believe the drugs are helping her. She had a very happy and successful life until about age 30. When she became depressed over a situation at her work, she went to see a psychiatrist. After she was convinced to try Prozac, her life began sliding downhill very quickly. Many other psychiatric drugs have been given her during these last 13 years, but Zoloft is the antidepressant that she is taking now. She is now disabled from the delusions and has been unable to work for some time. I have learned during this time that she has a copper/zinc imbalance that can cause depression, as well as other mental symptoms, and this is corrected with vitamins, minerals, and natural substances...but all the psychiatrists have thumbed their noses at this diagnosis, so I have not been able to get my daughter to take it seriously, even though this diagnosis is based on real science and physical tests...much more so than psychiatric diagnoses. I pray that someday a lawsuit will be filed against all the psychiatrists and the drug companies who have caused so much human suffering with these drugs. My heart aches for all those parents and others who have lost their loved ones to suicide, as well as for all those who are going through this horrible trauma like my daughter and me. It is very difficult to watch an adult child suffer so terribly and to feel so helpless. I can get very few doctors or mental health people to even talk with me because of the privacy laws.

Comments: Abolishing these drugs is just the start. Additionally, we need to stop the forced-medication of schoolchildren--most vaccinations (with stringent new rules on preservatives that go in vaccinations) and a complete ban on toxins like Ritalin.

Comments: ssris are well known for causing people who are not suicidal to become suicidal or people who are depressed or anxious who already have thoughts of ending their life to become more agitated, depressed and anxious thus making the urge all that much stronger and many have taken their lives because of these drugs negative effects. Many a good mother, father, wife, husband, brother, sister, child or other loved ones or friends have gone to their doctor for help due to the coaxing of family and friends to do so in the hopes that their loved one and friend will be made well again only to be prescribed a anti-depressant that can cause them to become worse and wanting to end their lives or end up in jail, and let me tell you from first hand experience that our judicial system isn't kind to people with mental illnesses and just try to tell them that the medication caused you to behave like that,I was judged double and then when they found out I wasn't some crazy person and realized they had made a mistake I was spit out with a plea bargain ,that is the common practice of how a person who has a mental disorder who had a bad reaction due to one of these anti-depressants and ends up in the court system is treated. The real criminals are never charged--the big pharma companies--and good people are scarred mentally not only by the negative reaction they had to these drugs but also having been treated poorly by a judicial system that is mis-informed in a age where alot more is known about mental illnesses and on top of the trauma of it all they now have a criminal record and a label placed upon their head since they were coaxed into signing a plea bargain claiming guilt for something that wasn't really their fault but the company that made the drugs but now they have to pay for what the drug companies have known all along and have lied to many people that these drugs cause people to become the total opposite of what these drugs were meant to do and make people more depressed and violent. They say that these ssris aren't addictive but just try to get off them cold turkey or even slowly(I have done it both ways) and see how free of these drugs you are in 3 months or so after quitting.Major psychosis, paranoia, suicidal thoughts, major anxiety, etc. . Some people I have spoken to who have tried to quit ssris have related similar stories and said they couldn't get back on the ssris fast enough to get some relief. These drugs are more addictive than heroin. Also look at how many unexplained massacres at schools, businesses, and other places are found to be committed by people who are either on these medications or withdrawing from them. Something is very wrong here and this madness and mass poisioning of our minds has to stop. Together we will topple the drug companies and make them pay for the hurt they have caused the people who are prescribed these drugs and the families and friends of the people who have ended their lives or been incarcerated due these mind bending drugs. Thank You

Comments: The ssri antidepressants are dangerous and quite unnecessary. See the American Journal of Psychiatry, June, 2006, pages 969-978. Of course, people say you should start taking the fish oil, then come off the ssri very slowly to avoid the "bounce" effect

Comments: I'd like to see all psychotropic drugs (including MAOIs, antipsychotics and sedatives) taken off the market immediately. In some studies, they only work slightly better than placebo. And most have not been studied at all for use in children. None of these drugs have been studied on how they work concomitantly. The synergistic effect of combining 2 or more drugs can be hazardous in many individuals. ~ an SSRI survivor

Comments: Dear Sir, i hate all of these drug and from what my youngiset child had gone threw. Ii was very hard for my family and we had to put in the hospital, because he had thoughts of setting himself on fire and no one would listen to us. so that's why we put him the hospital and the doctor took him off of everything and he was on paxil. At the time we put him the hospital and it broke our hearts to leave him behind. He won't take anything for his anxiety and we will not put him any more of these stupid drugs and I do think that all of these drugs should be taking off the market . i'm so sorry to hear about your lost of your daughter Sir. Comments: This issue has touched my life, as well. I could not believe the resistance I got from so-called mental health professionals. They were quick to prescribe drugs to a family member without so much as a blood work up to see if there were a physical cause for the outward mental issues. This family member, as it turns out, has a thyroid condition. She never had suicide tendencies before taking the drug, and now has made an atttempt.

Comments: These Drugs are Evil and so are the people who knowingly endorse them for profit. My family brothers & sisters, mother suffered from mental health drugs that my father was put on as he acted crazier and when he abruptly stopped the drugs he hallucinated, he also had manic episodes which was hard growing up. It made him unhappier and caused quite a lot of unhappiness and pain in our family. Sorry for your daughter. This is a crime I want to get the word out about mental health drugs, antidepressants. Comments: My mother committed suicide while on one of these drugs on Dec 1, 1990. I also had a friend who did the same in Sept of 2005, now my brother is starting counseling for depression amoungst other things and right away they sent him to a psychiatrist . I am praying that he does not get put on any of these drugs. He was prescribed wellbutron last year but went off of it right away because he was having suicidal thoughts all of the time. I support your efforts and will keep this in my prayers.
