Jennifer Poole | I won't miss the social club at all - particularly not the line of parked cars which substantially reduces the width of Lodgefield Road, the noise of cars coming and going, or the noise of children shouting and screaming late at night.
Amy Harrison | I have no objection to St. Modwen's plans. Their offer of a new social club seems more than fair. Most of the surrounding housing is relatively new, and I wonder how many of the current residents agonised over the supposed environmental impact when moving into their shiny new homes?

| 57 | Amy Harrison | I have no objection to St. Modwen's plans. Their efforts to regenerate the former Coombes Wood steelworks site have brought many jobs to the area and their current offer of a new social club seems more than fair.

Amy Harrison | Sorry for the duplicate entries - I'm not sure what happened there.
Anonymous | Leave the green belt - once it's gone it's gone and far too much has been lost already in the countryside.

Pam Thomas | Please do what you can to save this beautiful greenbelt land.
Steph | Far too many of our remaining green open spaces are being developed.

Gordon Hensman | It is vital that this green wedge be preserved from short term profit motivated development. There has already been so much development of green field sites in this area, that there willl be no open land left in the near future. The fact that it adjoins the famous Leasowes, is an added reason to prevent this site being vandalised by "development".

John Harper | With enough brown field sites available in the West Midlands, why destroy yet another field, meadow or wood that's been there for countless decades. Once it's gone, it's gone forever. Developers think only short term and are blinded by profit.
James Woodman | I'll bet half of you don't even know where the green wedge is.
Eileen Herbert | It is locally becoming like a concrete jungle with every available green space taken up by yet more housing. It is important to preserve what little green environment we have left for conservation as well as for ourselves to enjoy.
Michael Stoneham | There is already a surplus of devlopment in the UK, England especially and with this boiling down to quick and easy profit for developers then the justification is very hard to see. Stop being shortsighted and think about our country's future!!!
Anonymous | i think this green belt should be left as it is. i fully support this petition for all of the reasons already mentioned.
jason beardmore | this is green belt land for all the wild life and all the people to enjoy,it must be kept as it is.
Roger Cutler | Most of the Lodgefield Road estate was green before it was built on, including a football pitch on part of it. How many of you living there now were bothered about that when you moved in? This petition is pure, self-interested "not in my back yard" hypocrisy.
Ivan Wells | I live next to Olive Hill School and regularily walk in Coombes wood.
melanie | i am totally against the building on coombeswood greenbelt. Wildlife is already dying out. we should do our best to stop this from happening. I recently rescued a wild bird and it breaks my heart to see wildlife dying out. We should follow Dave Bellamys footsteps and enforce nature plaques and a bench. STOP THE BUILDING RIGHT NOW. | 83 | Emily Harper | I welcome the day when I no longer have to thread my way past a long line of cars parked outside the (anti)social club. I hope the development goes ahead.
Anonymous | After looking at the plans and listening to the stupid and often irrational objections from people there, i support the development in its entirety. Some of the comments were stupid and not thought out. One person said the development would block the canal!, another said the wildlife would never come back, of course they will. All i seemed to hear was "Skylark" when i was there, who thought that one up, in all the years i have been living in the area i have not seen one! I thought birds had wings anyway, this means they can fly back. Some people should just leave progress for the good alone!!!

Anonymous | I hope that good sense & respect for the environment will prevail and you will say no to the developers & help protect this special area.
anthony keith wilson | Coombes Wood must be preserved for both present and also future generations. Don't sell out to short-term profit! That's a betrayal of the highest values of which humanity is capable.
Carol Youg | As a child I frequently visited the Dudley area where my grandfather lived, and I still feel a strong attachment to this Black Country area. The green sites here are precious and must be protected. In addition the development would impact on the Monarch's Way which is part of our historical heritage. I strongly object to this planning proposal.

| 97 | Eileen Herbert | I wish to support your campaign regarding building on the green belt. It is time the council took more care of the local conservation areas while there is still some left. This piece of land is in an area which has already been taken over by numerous warehouses which is fine if the buildings are on land which is being recycled but natural land which this is should be left alone, both for people and the wildlife which live there.
I wish you every success as opposing the council is a tall order.
