Name: Si Roberts on Mar 19, 2008Comments: No to profit over people. Yes to Greenbelt principles over Development Creep. Simple As. Furthermore even proposing to site a "social club" (i.e. pub) within this beautiful vista with it's views down the Stour Valley and out across the Clee Hills of Shropshire is as thoughtless as it is laughable.Flag

Name: For It on Mar 22, 2008Comments: Its about time this land was used, it is wasted space. the cricket club would be a perfect solution. Why not give the school more land, its your kids that will be going to it, why deprive them. The only reason people are objecting is they would no longer have anywhere for their dogs to mess, their kids to play on trial bikes and no where to dump their rubbish over the back fence!Flag

Name: Mrs Judith Smith on Apr 8, 2008Comments: This land is too valuable to people and wildlife to destroy. I believe the clue is in the title...'protected green belt land.' How can these developers even consider this project Have St Modwens lost sight of the important things in life This is such a small patch of land but so very important to keep safe for all to enjoy.St Modwen's may I suggest you find somewhere else to 'develop'.Flag

Name: Nick Oakes on Apr 14, 2008Comments: A site that I have visited since my childhood, with a wealth of flora and fauna, and being composed of one of the sparsest and least-encountered habitats in the Black Country, indeed even the West Midlands. I would truly resent such a project as that proposed by St. Modwen to be undertaken - the value of this site as an ecological oasis should indisputably be clear to all.Flag

Name: Anonymous on Apr 17, 2008Comments: i love this unique piece of land - once it is disturbed in any way the widlife will vanish - there are bits of it already being destroyed with trees being I imagine unlawfully cut down to degrade it possibly to give weight to future negotiations - whoever is responsible should be heavily fined - schools should use this fantastic resource and future generations should be taught to love and respect such a valuable local asset.Flag

Name: Mrs J Robinson on Apr 29, 2008Comments: Myself and my Husband live on Lodgefield Road, opposite the Coombs Wood Sports and Social Club, and have done for the past 12-13 years. We moved to this house for a number of reasons, one of which played a major part in our decision to buy this house. The pleasant view and the opportunity to see one of our oldest English sports being played and walking around the beautiful, peacefull grounds. The view from our front window is one that many many people would like to see from their homes, TREES! We have NEVER had any problem with the social club and feel sure that if new homes were built on the site, we would suffer not only financially (who would want to buy a house with a housing estate opposite) if we wanted to sell, but there would be excessive noise, traffic, a complete mess while building work was being carried out and end up with an eyesore!! What a shame it would be if we could not continue to use this very natural designated area for ourselves and our grandchildren, but instead have to look a bricks and mortar. THIS SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO HAPPEN!Flag
