    Comments: These programs are important for the well-being of students and their families and cannot be replaced by a school science curriculum - hence the term extra-curricula and /or enrichment which caters to students who wish to pursue careers in science. It should be noted that school programs are often considered boring by students and this is usually due to old-style teaching practice. Additionally, students may be intimidated or hindered in their ability to achieve well due to peers who see science as "nerdy." CSIRO programs are fun and engaging and safe which is why they are so important to the future of young aspiring scientists in the NT.

    Comments: We live in a unique part of Australia where we have limited resources for the education of our children. Most of the children that attend the Education Centre are actually primary aged students and this is their only chance to be exposed to scientists. There are no other science programs like this in the NT.
