A law should be passed penalizing all Congressional members, Senators and Representatives alike, when the government shutdown goes into effect. The law should state: All members of Congress will lose 1 days pay for every day the government is shutdown, the same as any federal workers. They should also be fined as follows: $500. the first day, $1000. the second day, and it should continue to double each day of the shutdown until the government reaches an agreement and starts up again.
