| 106 | John R. Aiken | By allowing the zealots to continue to step on the our God given rights to control our own destinies’ You are doing a tremendous disservice to people suffering from lung cancer as the research to find the real cause has been abandoned with the myth that smoking or the mere close proximity to a smoker is the cause for all lung cancer cases and attributed to a host of other serious ailments. |

| 108 | Paul Poshyvanyk | I'm a Environmental Chemist with over 10 years experience. BS in Chemistry and Environmental Sciences, minor in Biology from DePaul University.
I am shocked and dismayed by the utter lack of scientific integrity on the parts of the Surgeon General, the EPA and the CDC on this issue.
Common sense has also been thrown out the window. |
| 109 | Patricia L Arthur | Our goverment shuold no control small business.Small business owners have made the choice to be their own boss and our goverment should not enforce laws that affect the revenue of these businesses. If an owner of a businesses chooses to allow smoking, that is their priviledge! It is not our goverment's choice! |

| 113 | Melody Kiley | When are you going to ban restaurants that sell steak? Remember fat causes clogged arteries. This is ridiculous. The gov't has no right in my personal business!!! |
| 114 | Greg Eppley | It was predicted that comunism, would take over the free world without firing a shot...this is how they are doing it..by taking away our rights one at a time.. |
| 115 | Robert Howard | |
| 116 | Jason | Smoking bans are based on greed from antismokers. And they don't give a flying squat if smokers actually die while enjoying their cigs outside in inclement weather. All they want is a smoke-free USA, which will NEVER happen, The discrimination of smokers is so huge, it feels like the pre-Civil Rights Days all over again to me! |
| 117 | Barbara Haselow | |
| 118 | Josie Lipiro | SEPARATE smoking AND nonsmoking places for EVERYONE to keep their RIGHTS and FREEDOMS intact. Enough with the bogus [studies]..... |

| 121 | Mary Ratts | What ever happened to the Land of the FREE!!!! Too many do gooders run this country, and I don't remember their names on any ballots!!! Bring back our civil rights! |
| 122 | Jessica Evans | |
| 123 | Dan Wagner | |
| 124 | Lorri A. Lanier | This smoking ban, especially in bars, is ridiculous. The government is taking away our rights little by little. Did anyone get to vote on this? No, they just made it against the law to smoke! Maybe we should all run the other way across the borders so that we can have a little FREEDOM. |
| 125 | Annette Costello | It's more than time for American citizens to stand up to those that "know better" and abuse our constitutional rights. |

| 128 | Bonnie Duncan | If SHS is so lethal, how do the rANTIS account for the millions and millions of baby boomers that survived the era of the smoking majority? |

| 131 | Shawn Gertken | End the SHS scam! |
| 132 | maureen nolan | If anyone in Congress is a beleiver in Free Will how is it that an American citizen does not possess this long-established inherent abiltiy to discern where they work or play?
It is,or was, my choice through free will to visit any place of business that suits my needs. If I do not like smoke or the prices or the people or the owner I will not go there. No one can compel me because I have Free Will.
If you do not believe in Free Will than you do not belong in this American Congress. Perhaps Hugo Chavez has a place for you in country. I heard he is looking for a few new men to dictate to the people. |
| 133 | Henry Meyers | No need to comment, its all been said before. |
| 134 | Kevin | This is about a group of adult citizens who choose to go to a bar and drink beer and smoke cigarettes together. I have the right to do that, no one can take that right away. The owners have a right to have a smoking establishment or a non smoking establishment. This right has been taken away from the smokers and the bar owners, its unconstitutional.
A sign on the front door "SMOKING ESTABLISHMENT" would be enough for most Americans to decide to walk in or not, but this particular non-smoking crowd can't police themselves, I guess, so they have to push to take away the rights of other Americans.
As far as the workers go, If you are afraid of heights you wouldn't apply for a roofing job, if you are afraid of wild animals you wouln't apply for a zoo keeper job, if you are afraid of second hand smoke you wouldn't apply for a ................ |
| 135 | david c chial | Ya know, if it`s a workplace safety issue, then it should be covered by OSHA, witch found no evidence that needed regulation. If it`s a business fairness issue, let the market decide, if it`s an employee happyness issue, get a new job, HELL I gotta take a shower after work, so can you! |

| 138 | William Brown | Private property is NOT automatically a Public Place simply because the public is invited in.
The public has a choice to decline that invitation.
Property owners deserve the choice of providing a smoking enviornment or not, and by virtue of their ownership, reserve that right for themselves.
"I would prefer to suffer the inconviences attending too much liberty, than to suffer those attending too small a degree of it." - Thomas Jefferson. |
| 139 | mark miars | this smoking ban has killed business and people. and many troubles await the country if we head in that direction. keep these puritan ideologys out of this great country. Let Israel, and Middle East Muslims and other zealot countries keep thier hard line laws., This is America Free and tolerant and thats why we are truely Gods Chosen people. |

| 141 | Anonymous | The more 'laws' you people pass, the less RIGHTS I have. That is just WRONG. |
| 142 | William J. Delaney | SHS kills no one. John Stosel, 20\20
The Surgeon General (Carmona) was fired for his comments on SHS. It was totally irresponsible!
Let the market decide!!!! |

| 146 | Leland L. Webster | "I know not what path others may take, but as for myself, give me liberty, or give me death." This is entirely about taking 'economic liberty' from American citizens, cloaked in false concern for public health, exactly the same as taking land from American citizens to stroke special interests and line the pocketsof the already-rich. |
| 147 | Bill Farrington | To all of my state and congrsional rep's. What ever happend to the right of liberty and the pursuit of happyness. As a former smoker I feel that It's my choice wether to visit a business that offers smoking or non smoking areas. it's not up too the goverment to decide for me. It;s my right to decide if
I want to patronize a bar or restaraunt that allows smoking. Let the people decide, not our law makers. |
| 148 | Tom Miler | the ban is killing businesses in ohio, aren't we poor enough as a state?? |
| 149 | Robin Neal | It's time for you, Congress, to step up and investigate this abrogation of everyone's rights! We want our Constitution back, now! |
| 150 | Garry Hagedoorn | ban the bans |
