Currently there are no adequate recreation centers for the citizens of Ozark, Al.
The Concerned Citizens Committee was formed to develop a plan to build a recreation facility for the children/citizens of Ozark, Al. We are looking for a positive outlet for everyone.
The proper recreation facility, located in the right area will provide; education facilities, exercise options, family recreation options, a safe gathering place and a sense of pride in our community.
A centrally located area between D.A. Smith Middle School and downtown Ozark is the ideal location.
We have been working for approximately seven months, doing research and gathering information from recreation facilities in the surrounding communities.
From our research we have identified what a complete recreation facility should include to meet the needs of our community:
Indoor Facilities:
- Swimming Pool
Locker rooms/dressing rooms
- Water Fountains
- Administrative Area
- On Premise Security
- Information Center
- Safe room (for severe weather)
- Study Rooms
- Computer Room - with current computing equipment
- Fitness Center - with equipment
- Special Needs Facilities
