PETITION AGAINST CONSOLIDATION OF CRISTO
REY COMMUNITY CENTER AND SAINT VINCENT CATHOLIC CHARITIES
We the undersigned believe the Cristo Rey Community Center should
continue as a free standing Latino agency, maintaining its original concept of
Latino control and self-determination. We believe a successful community center
must have appropriate Latino leadership, funding, and a safe secure work
environment for employees, clients and volunteers. The Cristo Rey Community
Center is known in the Lansing community as one of inclusion for the entire
community of those in need. We believe
consolidation with Saint Vincent Catholic Charities will diminish the Cristo
Rey Community Center.
