Name: Jana Dewhurst McPherson Black on Jun 13, 2010Comments: Not only did they take my cousin to Aussie w/o letting his mother know, at age 10, they took him and his little brother, age 9, to the ship promising his brother (who had the flu) would be in the infirmary and would join him in OZ - all lies! Not only has he never seen his mother again, he has never found his brother and the Home has "no record" of the little brother at all. He did exist - I have his Birth Certificate! Then my cousin was sent to a place where he was abused until they dumped him out onto the street at 18 to fend for himself - natch, he got into some trouble and scurrilous govt. attorneys who were supposed to help him instead helped themselves to his landscape paintings, saying it was his fee for their services.... the only good thing out of this is the last Prime Minister in Oz took back the paintings and they now hang in the National Museum (I do not know if he ever got paid for his museum quality paintings) . Today, at 68, needing cataract surgery, he is not bitter, just feels very hurt about something beyond his control. Compensation is the least he is owed!!!Flag

Name: Lisa Rust on Jun 14, 2010Comments: I strongly support The Child Migrant Cause. These children were sent to a strange land, lonely, scared and in many many cases sexually and/or physically abused. Some have made a life for themselves, others have been tormented by their terrible experiences and will never get over what they have suffered. It makes no difference that these experinces were a long time ago, the truth is, it should never have happened!Flag

Name: Judy Spiers. on Jun 17, 2010Comments: My husband was sent to Australia as a 10 year old. He and the other migrant children had to build their own orphanage in Perth, Western Australia, in the 1940's. The migrant children were sexually and physically abused by the Christian Brothers, a Catholic Organisation.Flag

Name: WENDY GOFF on Jun 17, 2010Comments: Brown's government timed their apology just as the elections were upon us - quite a coincidence don't you think? Apolgies slide off the tongue very smoothly when looking for votes. Saying sorry is not enough. We, who suffered earned the right to compensation through the blood, sweat and tears we shed at the hands of the sadistic carers we were entrusted to under the rule of the British government. We were not criminals we were innocent children betrayed by our own government and they should be made to dig deep and pay up! This must not be brushed under the carpet - keep the partition going!Flag

Name: Willa T. Edomobi on Jun 22, 2010Comments: I attended the First Child Migrants International Congress in 2001. That there are many older people who have yet to resolve or be able to travel to meet loved ones throughout the British Commonwealth is reason enough for compensation to become a reality sooner over later as a matter of justice and fairness.Flag

Name: Marinelle Mayo on Jun 22, 2010Comments: Our family promotes the work of the Child Migrants Trust by sharing its efforts and website information/link with many we meet from throughout the British Commonwealth. We have also donated to the organisation, and we take the position that the experiences of chidl migrants were as inhumane as slavery.Flag

Name: Mike And Cheryl Anderson on Jun 23, 2010Comments: we can not even get axcess to cheryl's fathers files from Barnodoes as they want one Hundred pounds for them to search. We think this is Immoral as they literaly stole the children. Cheryl's father even though he was not interfered with that we know of he could not talk about a lot of his time at the home here in Australia. Some thing also should be done for the familys who also had to support the child migrents after they have left these homes.Flag
