Name: Cllr Fraser Macpherson on Jul 14, 2010Comments: Many constituents have complained that the revised 11/12 service is inadequate - no services early morning and nothing after about 3pm or at weekends. It is important that National Express Dundee urgently reviews and improves the service for the area.Flag

Name: Norman Mayes on Jul 16, 2010Comments: The loss of the 11/12 service at evenings and weekends was too drastic, unfair and will be sorely missed. Surely they could have kept a reduced service from the original one rather than cutting it out altogether. Eg buses after 3pm might have been kept to an hourly service and also at weekends.Flag

Name: S Cuthbertson on Jul 16, 2010Comments: as im 37 weeks pregnant the change to the bus service is causing me problems from getting to midwive appointments and hospital appointments as i live on ancrum drive . my midwive is across town and was only a bus journey away and now i need to get 2 buses which when you are pregnant is not as easy as most might think , as it takes you longer to walk between bus stops . maybe its time that the bus company worked for the people of dundee instead of putting money in front of the service they provide !Flag

Name: Lorna Neill on Jul 17, 2010Comments: Direct connections between Ancrum Rd. and Perth Road are now almost non-existent and the drastically reduced frequency of the 17 service, which is the access to Ninewells hospital and Tesco for those to the north of Balgay Park, is not nearly good enough for such an essential route. One missing bus can mean a wait of more than half an hour. The same applies to connections with the railway station, especially outwith peak periods.Flag

Name: Linda Moore on Jul 17, 2010Comments: It makes absolutely no sense to reduce service at times when folk need buses, e.g. getting to work in the morning and back at tea time. This is a much poorer service on the 11/12 route and also the No. 17 which regularly doesn't turn up or run to timetable. No encouragement for people to use public transport.Flag

Name: Miss Ann Kidd on Jul 17, 2010Comments: Being a resident of Pentland Crescent for the past 9years I am more dissapointed than ever by the recent changes to our bus service. Not being a driver myself, I have to rely on public transport. since Ive moved here Ive already lost the services of 36&37 which took me directly to & fro kirkton Asda, no.2 haf hourly service straight to lochee high st & back & now the direct route to & fro sainsburys via the circulars. when doin my weekly shop a direct route is a godsend. Now the new routes have affected me when travelling to & fro my 5-9pm shift at Ninewells, so much so that I am now walking to Blackness Rd for the more convenient services of the no.22 or more often than not I catch the more reliable Strathtay no.73 to Ninewells. being fit & healthy Im lucky I can walk the distance, tho I am dreading the winter months approaching. Heaven help the elderly of whom many reside in this area. I expected more no.17s would have been put on to compensate for the loss of circulars via Ninewells....No such luck!!!Flag

Name: Margaret Speed on Jul 18, 2010Comments: Why do we not have an early morning service from this side of the city on a Sunday. If I lived at the other end of the city I could get a bus in to town for an 8o'clock start but living at this end means I have to either get a lift, walk or get a taxi. THis situation is not a recent one I have to add. Do they think the people at this end do not work. The bus service is now a disgrace and is more likely to make people use their cars rather than take public transportFlag

Name: Mark Mcdonald on Jul 18, 2010Comments: Although I don't live in the west end, I live in Broughty Ferry, the removal of the9,10,11 and 12 bus services has had a huge detrimental affect to myself, but particularly to my wife Helen. Helen works in a factory on Dunsinane Ave.,so she has no choice but to take 2 buses to work. She has already been in touch with Derek Scott, regarding the failure of buses not turning up, and he has been in touch with the bus company about this. I e-mailed National Express regarding the new schedule and evetually received a reply after 2 weeks with the usual patronising answer that customers are really important to the company. The reason given for buses putting up "not in service" signs on their buses and leaving passengs stranded is that regulations dictate that drivers can only drive for a certain time before having a break, so if they are running late they are told just to let passengers off to save time. I would say that the reason they are continuosly late especially on the new 5a and 5b is that they have to negotiate the narrow streets of Broughty Ferry, these streets were not designed for buses going through. If they took this part off the route then they would probably be able to keep to schedules a lot easier.Flag

I wanted to get to the perth road the other weekend and gave up because it was a nitemare. the only thing this has made me do is finish my drivng lessons as i can no longer handle the stress of the buses.Flag

Name: John MacGregor on Jul 20, 2010Comments: This supposed to be a SERVICE, convenient to the public, NOT the bus operator. Stopping the 9/10/11/12 service from being a full Outer Circle service was appalling, but stopping the reduced service at 3pm defies belief! I can't help feeling this service change was ordered by a bunch of cretinous incompetents who simply do not care about their passengers. Oh, and the #2 service should be re-instated as a half-hourly service too!Flag

Name: Wendy King on Jul 24, 2010Comments: this revised timetable has had a huge detrimental impact in an area which has a significant number of older residents. I urge National Express to consider their social responsibility and acknowledge the impact of removing the evening and weekend service and how this contributes to the isolation of a vulnerable section of the community.Flag
