    Comments: As Community base Paralegals we played a vitol role from the early 80's already. From then our roles has increasingly become Paralegals assisting the poor and vulnerable to foster their rights in the absence of Government assistance . We played and continued to play a signifigant role in empowering and educating people about their rights. It is important to recognize the work that we have done and continue to do and would therefore the right thing to include us in the Bill as vitol service providers in the legal fratenity.

    Comments: The advice offices in the Western Cape are all closing their doors. They used to be the first port of call for the rural communities. Government must take steps to establish and sustain advice offices as icons of access to justice. Justice Centres cannot cope with the civil rights issues these advice offices address.
