Privatisation

As you may know the Local Community Development Programme (LCDP) is to be subject to competitive tendering by the end of this year.

Already tenders have been invited from private for-profit companies to deliver “Jobpath”, a service that is successfully provided by Local Employment Services and public servants.

It is clear that the privatisation agenda is gaining ground and poses a fundamental threat to the community sector for workers, organisations and communities.
