Commerce Towers is a building in Downtown Houston with a food court in the basement level that is connected to the Houston tunnel system.  The food court had 4 restaurant operators until late 2012. The food court was not managed well and the tenants have suffered from declining sales, leading to closure of 2 of the 4 restaurants.  The remaining 2 tenants have requested a rent reduction from the landlord.  Multiple letters and requests have been ignored and even issues raised on maintennace have been ignored.

Tenants have heard complaints from customers that the presence of too many fruit flies, TVs running too loud, cafeteria style seating, and always full trash bins have led them to believe the food court is not worthy of their patronage, irrespective of the quality of food from restaurants.

Our plea to the landlord is to reduce rent to 8% of sales until no operational issues are present.

We ask for customer help in signing this petition if you agree with 2 things
1) Tenants are entitled to a clean, well lighted, well laid out, well maintained, and quiet food court so customers can have an enjoyable and issue free lunch experience.
2) Rent level should be fair and equitable to sales noting the sales are harmed by the poor management and may never recover to higher levels.

Thank you for your support!
