If an Abbott Government is elected in September, it will result in open slather mining across much of Australia. This is a risk we cannot take.

Labor, Greens and Independent members of Parliament currently have the numbers to ban CSG mining, so lets get on with it!

Let's urge the Labor member for Richmond, Justine Elliot to move a private members bill to Abbott-proof the Northern Rivers from CSG mining, before it's too late.

Please sign my petition to 'Abbott proof' the Northern Rivers from CSG mining NOW!

P.S. Don't forget to share this around with your friends.              Time is running out - we can't risk CSG on an Abbott Government!

How the Federal Government can stop CSG mining

As Lock the Gate’s recent ‘Call to Country’ revealed, the Federal Government can act to stop CSG mining.

Specifically, the Commonwealth could use it’s export and trading powers to create CSG no-go zones over urban areas, cultural heritage sites, drinking water catchments and National Parks, as has been used in the past to stop state government’s wood chipping native forests.

Labor, The Greens and Independents have the numbers to pass such legislation in both houses of Parliament, so let's get on with it!
