Dear Mr. President:
We petition you to pardon men and women in combat from 'frivolous charges' resulting from their actions in combat. It is time to honor these individuals as the heroes they are ... they have earned that honor. Split second decisions made when they and their charges are in harms way should not be challenged after reviewed and validated by chain of command. It is time to stand up and be counted, time to put our prayers to action, time to control those who wish to demoralize our military with these frivolous accusations.
Therefore we ask you to: Please pardon all those for battle condition decisions ALREADY REVIEWED and CLEARED by their chain of command.
We the undersigned feel -- if these charges and suites along with the inevitable financial and psychologic stress are allowed to stand against men and women of valor for actions already reviewed and cleared ... we soon will have no more 'men and women of valor' volunteering for hazardous duty.
Mr. President it is time for us to act, time for us to put action to our prayers, it is our turn to 'cover their backs' as they have covered ours ... we ask that you pardon and protect Marine Lt. Ilario Pantano and others like him.
Thank you, and God Bless you and God Bless America. |
