Change child support collection

To Whom it may concern; To keep this description as brief as possible but at the same time to gain support on this issue, please read and support the following. Current child support collection laws have a \"loop hole\" for collection of child support from construction and seasonal workers. The non-custodial in my case grosses $60,000 a year, yet my children are lucky to see any of the monthly child support owed to them each month. This problem is due to the type of employment the non custodial parent holds. Those who work within the field noted above move to several different locations, under several different employers. The child support services department claims that under current legislation, they can not track these employees in a resonable amount of time. They state that due to these employees relocating with several employers, that by the time they issue a \"wage assignment\" (court order for child support) the employee moves to another location, thus starting the process over again. Current laws that are in effect make it almost impossible to collect child support orders from these employees. Change is needed within this area of the law. Current legislation allows the child support services department 90 total to inforce child support orders. This is where the law need to be changed. Do you or someone you know, constantly struggle to support your young child(ren) on your own, while the non-custodial parents work and do not provide for their young child(ren) If so, this is an issue to support. Once this petition has 1,500 signatures, I would like to take the matter to Washington. Currently our local assemblymember office is avoiding the issue. I feel with support from others in this situation, will finally get their attention and change will be made. Please lets do this for our children. Once you sign this petition, please forward to anyone you also know who may be willing to sign. You may send any questions you have to tmurrayma@yahoo.com. Thank-you for your support. You must be 18yrs or older to sign. Please provide a contact information (email or phone # ) so if in the future someone can contact you for verification if needed. Thank-you once again for your support. PETITION TO CHANGE COLLECTION OF CHILD SUPPORT FROM CONSTRUCTION /SEASONAL WORKERS: 1. Tamara Murray, Whittier-Ca. tmurrayma@yahoo.com

I am an individual party looking to petition receive signatures from those who are or know of others fighting for this cause. The non-custodial parent in our case grosses $60,000 per year, yet my children are lucky if they receive any of that support on a monthly basis. We need to support of children financially, and in this day and age it is almost impossible to do it on our own. Thank-you for your support. Sincerely; Tamara Murray Whittier, CA. tmurrayma@yahoo.com

7 years ago Comments: I stumbled across this site looking for options and resources for fathers. I get charged nearly $1200 a month (almost 50% of my taxable income). Their mother has free child care available to her (from three different places), has a college degree, and chooses not to work. Therefore they increase the support on my part to a point where I can't afford to pay any bills. So if support is stringent on those in my situation, it should be universal.
