We are campaigning to ask the UK government to follow in the footsteps of countries like Sweden who now have developed a vast capacity for renewable energy production. The ultimate aim is to have Britain in a position where it is able to produce excess renewable energy with scope to export. Increase funding and research in Renewable energy sources ranging from small scale rooftop solar panels to large scale tidal, wind, biomass and waste to energy production projects.

Current British renewable output is around 20% of total usage with the aim to improve this to 30% by 2020. There is a real danger that our for our fragile planet this is inadequate. The aim of this petition is to transform the UK to a leader in the fight against global warming. Leading by example and counteracting the carbon production of countries which are unable or unwilling to act is the way forwards in this battle against global warming.

While we fully understand that to many this may look like an impossibility it is irresponsible to not try. We have one world and once it is gone that is it. Our responsibility as Humans is to leave the world in a better state than how we received it from the generations before us. We have a moral responsibility to prevent the destruction of the only planet we have.

We need every signature we can get to both raise awareness and to impact the greatest change we can. Government support of renewable energy is key to these vital changes that we need to incur to stem climate change.
