Boiler Scrappage Scheme for Dumfries and Galloway

25 Signatures Goal: 100

In the middle of one of the coldest winters in recent memory the SNP has turned its back on homes in Dumfries in Galloway struggling with fuel bills.

While only a short drive away across the border households can get £400 from the UK Labour Goverment towards the cost of a new energy efficient boiler, here in Dumfries and Galloway the SNP have refused to introduce the scheme here. They have dismissed this measure to help people across our region struggling to pay their bills - even though the SNP have the money to pay for it. Installing a new energy efficient boiler could help households to save as much as £235 a year AND cut their carbon footprint while at the same time securing vital jobs at the companies which make, sell and install boilers.

I want the SNP government to match Labour's commitment across the rest of the UK to cutting fuel poverty, tackling climate change and helping the economy. It is not fair that Dumfries and Galloway should lose out while only just across the border people can get £400 for a new boiler.

Please sign my peition and show that we demand action now from the SNP.
