Text of letter to Mints
I would like to bring to your attention the initiative "A coin for Alan Turing."
This is an international petition that asks European countries to issue a commemorative coin to celebrate the centenary of the birth of Alan Turing in 2012.
The petition is running online at web addresss: http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/coin4alanturing where you can find evidence, information, and the full text of the petition which is also attached to this letter.
At the time of writing more than 560 people of various nationalities and from many different sectors (academics, researchers, mathematicians, engineers, philosophers, students, engineers and ordinary citizens) have signed the petition. The list of their names is available on the web site above.
The text of the petition contains the reasons people support "A coin for Alan Turing"
On behalf of all petition's signatories I ask you kindly to consider the proposal of our petition, and to issue a coin devoted to Alan Turing on the centenary of the his birth in 2012.
I look forward to your response. Many thanks for your attention
Sincerely
