It's time to start a petition to the great Canadian Institution of Tim Hortons. Now that they are located in Kandahar, our troops can introduce the coalition to a Double Double. I would like to be able to buy a 'soldier' a well deserved Canadian Maple and an Ice Cap. So here it goes, my petition for a Canada-wide "Buy a Soldier A Coffee Day". We, the undersigned, request Tim Hortons to consider a Canada-wide "Buy a Soldier a Coffee Day" whereby the company places specially marked collection boxes in their outlets across Canada for one day in order to collect donations from Canadians. These donations would be collected and applied to covering the costs of purchasing coffee for individual troops using the Tim Hortons outlet at Kandahar Air Field. Depending on the funds collected, the company could either cover the costs of service members buying coffee on an individual basis (i.e., at random, a serviceperson is told, "no need to pay, it's already been paid for by grateful Canadians."), or a "Buy a Soldier a Coffee Day" could be set up in Kandahar, where all customers for a day would be treated to free coffee.
