Name: Michael Osborne on Nov 26, 2012Comments: How is it in this age of so called equality can it be deemed that women are unable to hold the office of Bishop. Is this not sex descrimination? Are we not all equal in the eyes of God? In God maybe but not in the eyes of the house of laity. Church of the Holy Spirit, Rugeley, Lichfield DioceseFlag

Name: Sue Cowen on Nov 27, 2012Comments: Having been an active member of my local C.or e church for many years the decision from the General Synod has made me doubt whether I should continue to worship at an Anglican church, an organisation that in effect allows a minority view to 'win the day' does not belong to the 20th century let alone the 21st. Name: Jon Taylor, St Johns, Swindon, Lichfield on Nov 28, 2012Comments: I am appalled that these lay members voted against this measure in opposition to the strong support from lay voters at diocesan level. I am now of the opinion that women bishops must be appointed and the 'flying' bishops disbanded. If that means that inflexible Anglo-Catholics leave the church, then so be it. The Church will be stronger for their departure.Flag

Comments: I am strongly in favour of having women bishops. Indeed I would be quite happy to have an opt-out from a male one, but would prefer no opt-outs or special protections of any sort, and want the Act of Synod rescinded. I am involved with two churches both with women in leadership roles. In Ashbourne (Diocese of Derby) I am active in St Oswald's; and I am also involved with St Peter's Ellastone (Diocese of Lichfield) which is the village where I live. Nick TaylorFlag -
