Name: Shirley Tart on Nov 26, 2012Comments: St Andrew's Church, Shifnal, Shropshire I am also a journalist and have written about the justice and injustice of our faith over many years. I don't believe in token women and am the first to say if a man is the right candidate for any role, then choose him of course. But the logic of ordaining women and then forbidding progress in their calling is of course nonsense and the outcome of this vote is outrageous. Those who quote every word of the bible as literate must have missed Galations - "Neither male nor female ... all one in Christ Jesus ...?"Flag

Name: Susan Whitehouse on Nov 26, 2012Comments: I was extremely saddened & angry that a vocal minority can be so intolerant and uncaring about the views of the majority. Name: Mrs Judith Ruff on Nov 26, 2012Comments: I stringly suspect that those lay representatives who voted against the motion to allow women to become bishops are in the small minority when compared to the views of the vast majority of the lay people in the Church of England. This vote is a disaster for the church unless it can be addressed quickly.Flag

Name: Roy Grain on Nov 26, 2012Comments: The Church of England still carries the views of the male dominated middle east where even today we are fighting a war against the Taliban for their oppression of women. Surely we have moved into a more enlightened time when women should be treated in every respect the equal of men and visa versa. Women should therefore be capable of becoming Bishops. Name: Philip Douglas on Nov 26, 2012Comments: Lichfield diocese. Wednesfield St Thomas. Disgraceful how 6 people can hold the church to ransom. Forward in Faith must be rubbing their hands in glee at the outcome. Sends out a message to the wider world that the church is out of touch and still discriminates against half its members. How did we let so many with extreme views against this get in such positions of power.Flag

I feel that this issue has gone on long enough and this latest fiasco has caused much damage to the Church in general. The Holy Innocents' Church, Kidderminster, Diocese of Worcester.Flag
