The pressure worked and the Governor General finally acknowledged the necessity of a coalition that reflects how the people actually voted. Stephen Harper and his cronies could not hide from the fact that they never held a mandate to rule alone. Stay alert because we need to make sure this …

We, the undersigned residents of Canada, draw the attention of the Governor General of Canada to the following: THAT, the Conservative Party of Canada was not elected by the majority of Canadians but by only 37,6% of the voters on October 14th, 2008. THAT, Stephen Harper and his Minister of Finance, Jim Flaherty, proposed a financial plan that was anti-democratic and based on ideologies, not responding responsively to the financial crisis our country, and the world are facing. THAT, the opposition parties stood up against it to defend the interest of all Canadians. THAT together, the Liberal Party of Canada and the NDP, supported by the Bloc Quebecois and the Green Party of Canada, duly represent the majority of Canadians. Therefore, we hereby demand The Governor General of Canada: 1. to take note of the national support of the public for a governement coalition; 2. to recognize that the proposed coalition is based on the best interests of all Canadians and Canadian democracy by elected officials and political parties duly representing the majority of the Canadian people and voters; and 3. to call for a Royal Commission with the objective to "ensure that each Canadian voter has an equal right to be represented in Parliament". The biggest problem our democracy is facing is the lack of representation of the voters in the House of Commons. ------------------------------------------------- MORE INFO ON OUR WEBSITE: http://electoralreformcanada.ca NOTE: We accept no donation. Stephen Harper and Jim Flaherty are gambling with our economic future while ignoring the voters who actually hold the majority. We are organizing behind the scenes to force the Governor General to see that this lopsided power grab is a betrayal of the people.

Finally someone said it. The way things are running right now is a complete mess and doesn't reflect what anyone actually voted for.

37% is not a mandate. We need a government that actually listens to the majority.
