Reinstate Coach Mike. We, the undersigned, who have an interest in the continued viability and success of Beat the Streets, strongly feel that the absence of Coach Mike is a huge loss for the wrestling team and to the organization. To: Mike Novogratz We, the undersigned, who have benefited greatly from Coach Mike’s years of commitment to Beat the Streets, cannot remain silent at the loss of Coach Mike. We strongly urge his reinstatement as our coach. Beat the Streets reached out to our communities throughout the city to create an interest in us for wrestling, with the goal of transforming us from novices into seasoned wrestlers. Through a single-mindedness of purpose in making that vision a reality, Coach Mike has played a key and significant role in that transformative process. In the many years he has devoted to Beat the Streets, we have observed him invest his time and much hard work, working into the late hours, for our benefit and that of Beat the Streets. Over the years, Coach Mike has shown an energy, skill and enthusiasm for wrestling that we have internalized. Coach Mike set the bar high for us to achieve as wrestlers, and through his coaching he has shown us that through consistency and hard work we can achieve what at first appears impossible. As our coach and mentor, he has extended himself beyond his official capacity into our personal lives to guide us in the right direction. He has sought and obtained outside mentors to motivate us not only as wrestlers but also to mentor us regarding matters that would affect us in the future as adults. As a result of his seemingly boundless capacity to give and mentor, he has won our trust, respect and admiration. We owe him a lot. While it is true that a coach can be replaced, it is not so true when you consider the coach being replaced a family member whose history has always been to go beyond what is required because he has your best interest at heart. We respectfully ask that you use your authority and re-negotiate with Coach Mike to be reinstated as our wrestling coach at Beat the Streets. Sincerely, The Undersigned
