Name: Sarah Stickney on Jul 14, 2008Comments: Coach Jodee built that program from the ground up. It is pretty obvious that this group of girls had a personality clash with Jodee and took advantage of the fact that the current principal doesn't have a history with the teacher. In a city where it is very difficult to find good dedicated teachers, this is an outrage. The parents and the students involved in her firing should be ashamed of themselves. Though, I don't know why Jodee would want to go back to work at a school where she seem so unappreciated. But really, what comes next Teachers will be fired because students are unhappy with their grades It seems like that is the way things are headed.Class year (if applicable): 2002Flag

Name: Cassidy L. Maumus on Jul 14, 2008Comments: Jodee made my high school volleyball career absolutely amazing. She is the main reason I became a D1 college volleyball player and most importantly a two year captain on that team! Firing Jodee will NOT make the school a better place, nor will it make the students or her players better/happier people. I ask that this decision to fire Jodee will be reevaluated, that her side of the story will be HEARD, and that her predicament be based on real reasons (hard facts) not just heresay!!!Class year (if applicable): 2003Flag

Name: Marc Lundberg on Jul 14, 2008Comments: Jodee is a role model for an infinite number of girls, simply from my generation at Franklin. She's the sole reason why many students return to Franklin to visit. She treated students as adults, while disciplining those who were out-of-control. Not only did she create an athletic tradition at a school with a non-existent program, but also mothered alot of her players'/students' problems (a characteristic not shared by other coaches).Class year (if applicable): 1998Flag

Name: Abby Larimer on Jul 14, 2008Comments: Please give Jodee a fair hearing and consider the totality of the circumstances surrounding her ENTIRE career and not just the past year. Jodee has been a great influence in my life and has helped me get to where I am today. I am very upset at the treatment she has been given. This has put a bad taste in my mouth about Ben Franklin which otherwise has an incredibly special place in my heart from everything the school did for me. Please give Jodee a fair hearing. Franklin will not be the same if she is not there.Class year (if applicable): Ben Franklin '01, Vanderbilt '05, Emory Law '08Flag

She lives for what she does with Volleyball and for Franklin and I am appauled by her firing. She has done NOTHING to deserve anything close to losing her job.Class year (if applicable): 2004Flag

Sure she's rough around the edges, but I've never heard anything like this. She would never have any ill intent towards her students. From my experience and impression...she's a great person and an outstanding coach.Class year (if applicable): 2002Flag

It is unfortunate that a new group of athletes disagrees with a program that has done so well for so many years - Jodee being the link to it all. Please consider all the information before making sure a harsh decision.Class year (if applicable): 1997Flag

Name: Daniel Mack on Jul 14, 2008Comments: I was a student-athlete during Jodee's tenure as multiple sport coach and athletic director. Her impact on my tenure at Franklin was a significant one; when I struggled academically, Jodee either found assistance or provided it herself if she could. When I bruised my coccyx, Jodee went out of her way to help me to my next class. Whenever I return to Franklin sporting events, I make it my mission to find Jodee and give her a gigantic hug as a sign of gratitude for what she taught me and did for me during my time as a Falcon. Her absence at Franklin would press me hard to attend or continue to support the athletic department, or any other function of the school.Class year (if applicable): 2002Flag

She was the only person I considered going to for help. Keep her around, she's a great coach/friend.Class year (if applicable): 02 soldierFlag

Name: Keri Cassel on Jul 14, 2008Comments: I was at Ben Franklin when we weren't qualifying for ANY championship sports games. The volleyball team was 100% built by Jodee and it's completely ridiculous that this team is just trying to get her fired for no reason. She is an EXCELLENT coach and is the main reason we had our gym floor rebuilt and got new sports equipment [pre- katrina] She should NOT be fired from her position as a coach and a physical education teacher.Class year (if applicable): 2006Flag

The number of Franklin students that call Jodee a friend is uncountable, and I hope she gets to continue coaching there so more students can get to know her and be coached by such a good coach and a good friend.Class year (if applicable): BFHS alum 2005Flag
