Name: Jenny Arden on Jan 30, 2007Comments: I ran in middle school, high school, and college and no coach has made me feel like I could overcome my own obstacles like Coach Adam. I am forever grateful and can only hope that more runners can also experience the same coaching and friendship that I have treasured.Flag

He is the most supportive, caring person, and the best to be in charge of TFK. The team has him to thank for its sucess. This was my first marathon, and I never could've done it without TFK, but specifically without Coach Adam.Flag

Name: Paul Almonte on Jan 30, 2007Comments: I wish to add my name to the list of TFK members who are outraged at the way Coach Adam is being treated by the NYRR leadership. As someone who very much values education and those people who are true "teachers," it saddens me that the NYRR can't see the tremendous teaching spirit Coach Adam possesses. As someone who holds a leadership position in a large organization, I am also appalled at the way in which this decision has been reached and disseminated to our membership. Name: Sarah Lindsay on Jan 30, 2007Comments: Power is dangerous thing - it should be respected and monitored. In the case of Team for Kids and their decisions I feel that power has gone to theirs. They created a family and a network that was inspired and motivated by an incredible team. A father like figure one could say. This group has now been orphaned and is dazed by the headlights of greed and egos from the powers that be. It is a crying shame that Adam has been let go but the powers that be will realise over the coming months the extent of the formidable vacuum that Adam will leave behind. Good luck with filling that!Flag

Name: Nina Agrawal on Jan 30, 2007Comments: To: NYRR Foundation I am writing this letter in wholehearted support for Adam's contribution to Team for Kids. He is an integral part of the TFK training. On a personal note, as many know, I was hit by a car one week before the marathon. Adam made a personal call to me along with Omar and helped me realize all that I had accomplished in my training. I cried not out of pity but out of joy that I had the opportunity to have undergone the many weeks of training. I had been looking forward to the next year to hopefully run the marathon with TFK. However, I can't imagine training with TFK without Adam's outstanding leadership, knowledge, and experience. I, honestly, do not feel that anyone can fill his sneakers. I would encourage the NYRR foundation to seriously reconsider their decision regarding Adam's contract. Nina Agrawal TFK 2005 and 2006Flag

Coaches are a dime a dozen, true leaders aren't. I couldn't envision doing the NYC Marathon without TFK, despite my guaranteed entry. Without Coach Adam, I can't envision joining TFK.Flag

Name: Sarah Kearney on Jan 30, 2007Comments: I cannot express how unfair, ridiculous, and an incredibly poor decision this is on the part of NYRR Foundation. While I was all but signed up to run as part of Team for Kids in 2007, I can say that I am seriously reconsidering at this point. Adam makes this team what it is, and without him, I don't know if in my heart I feel right about joining TFK again in 2007.Flag

Name: Kristen G. Lyndaker on Jan 30, 2007Comments: Adam has been above and beyond helpful, and he is the reason why I have remained a member for the past 3 years. Even though I live in LA, he has made me feel like a member of the team, and has supported me. I joined TFK having already been accepted in the marathon through the lottery in 2004. Letting him go will be a disservice to the team, the kids, and the foundation. Sincerely, KristenFlag

Name: Oscar Sloterbeck on Jan 30, 2007Comments: I have been a member of TFK for 2 years, volunteered at the Jamboree and raised approx $7k for the NYRRF. While I know that I don't have all the facts, I am surprised and disappointed at the announcement that Adam Kraijcher will not be the Head Coach of TFK in 2007. To me, Adam has been the leader of TFK in each of the past 2 seasons. He has been an incredible source of enthusiasm, knowledge, and passion. He, more than anyone else created and led the team that has influenced me in my time with TFK. He has helped to open the door to the joys of running, and exposed me to the community of TFK which has created friendships and provided motivation and support. I hope to understand better how the decision to not renew Adam's contract has been reached. It is my understanding that Team For Kids continues to have the main mission of raising money for the kids. To let Adam go, the man who led that mission with great energy, and supported each of us along the way, would be to lose a vital and integral asset of the team. Respectfully, Oscar Sloterbeck TFK '05, '06Flag

Name: Trish Peifer-Arens on Jan 30, 2007Comments: Coach Adam has inspired numerous members of the TFK team and established a sense of community and commeradery which is rare for a team of adults. I stongly encourage you to rethink your decision regarding his position with TFK. You may be able to hire someone else to run workouts but you will not replace the "coach" of this team. I fear you will loose far more than a coach, you will loose his supporters and jeaprodize the overall well being of TFK.Flag

Name: Kelsey Nicholson on Jan 30, 2007Comments: As a National Member that suffered a stress fracture in October and therefore did not even get to run in the NY marathon in 2006 or even get to meet my Metro team mates or Coach Adam, this was still BY FAR the best team experience I have ever had. I have trained with AIDS Marathon here in San Francisco, and even though I made a couple of friends, the staff, Coaching, and community were no where NEAR what they ARE with TFK. I raised the money even though I didn't run. I send shoes to kids for Santa gifts from California. I WAS looking forward to being with the team this year again, but am not sure I could stomach it. If I want to help the kids or be part of NYRR I can always write a check, but TFK really was something different. It was a fully supportive and loving family that included the staff, runners and kids. The board was foolish to dismiss that powerful and strong relationship that was ready and willing to build and support what was a proven fantastic organazation. Regards, Kelsey Nicholson Piedmont, CaliforniaFlag
