There is a growing call from Canadian medical transcriptionists for some form of unity that will act as a single 'voice' for our profession. This is NOT the formation of a union. The proposed Canadian Medical Transcription Association (CMTA for short) would be a non-profit corporation registered in Canada. Possible benefits of such an association would be: - A strong voice to petition for wage parity - A Canadian focal point for career information - A resource for industry standards - Etc.
