Name: Lisa Frechette on May 7, 2002Country: CAComments: As a primary health care nurse practitioner (student) and an outpost nurse I see the lack of mental health care services everyday - In Halifax alone there is a 4 month waiting list to see a psychologist if you are refered by a family physician - the only way you can afford it if you do not have supplemental health care insurance. In rural and remote areas you are lucky if there is a psychologist to see!! It's not getting better!Flag

Name: Katie Ka Wai LIu on May 8, 2002Country: CAComments: Support to the mental health department is important. Many people have physical illnesses. Those are easily fixed and can be treatable. But When you have a mental illness, treatment is not as fast and effective. Sometimes it may take long or it may take ages to cure. It is a silent killer and tormentor.Flag
