This petition is to prevent the opening of Club Friction, which will be located right above Albert's Cafe (1380 Grant Ave., Philadelphia, PA 19114), and is tentatively scheduled to open for business this coming fall. First off, the building is not properly zoned for a nightclub. It's supposed to be a catering hall. Also, Albert's Cafe has a history of being a nuisance bar (including fights, stabbings, people trying to run over other patrons with their vehicles, etc.). The owner of the business has been accused of discriminating against gays, African-Americans and the handicapped. The purpose of this petition is to give people living within the vicinity of this business a chance to speak up on whether or not they want to allow this type of behavior in their neighboorhood.
