Name: Rudy Martinez on Oct 15, 2002State: TXCountry: USComments: "We were first drawn by the sound. From far away, the thunderous, muffled, echoing beat was comparable to a mother's heart soothing a child in her womb of concrete, steel, and electrical wiring. We were drawn back into this womb, and there, in the heat, dampness, and darkness of it, we came to accept that we are all equal. Not only to the darkness, and to ourselves, but to the very music slamming into us and passing through our souls: we are all equal. And somewhere around 35Hz we could feel the hand of God at our backs, pushing us forward, pushing us to push ourselves to strengthen our minds, our bodies, and our spirits. Pushing us to turn to the person beside us to join hands and uplift them by sharing the uncontrollable joy we felt from creating this magical bubble that can, for one evening, protect us from the horrors, atrocities, and pollution of the outside world. It is in that very instant, with these initial realizations that each of us was truly born." Please do not take this from us...IT IS ABOUT THE MUSIC...Flag

Name: Brad Jolly on Oct 24, 2002State: TXCountry: USComments: Hey whats up bro. I have been a raver now for about 5 years, and a resident of D/fw,TX for about 2 years. I just wanted to say, I really appreciate what you are doing for club Hyperia. I have never been there, but im sure its a tight club. I know how you feel about things though, cuz Cops in Dallas are trying to do the same thing. They are not going after one Raver club.. They want them all shut down. SO, what the fuck is up with thatIt's cool to have rendeck barship hop, and rap clubs then they see us..the ravers, and want us shut down. They say it's because of drugs. You could shut down all the raves and it still wouldnt stop drug flow into the us. I could take you to many other rap or hip-hop clubs and get you the same fucking drugs. So, they can use that as an excuse. Fuckem all. Once agian, thank you for what you are doing. If you don't care, hit me back with an email, so I will no what happens with club HYPERIA. Us ravers, we will always stick together...."HARDCORE TO THA RAVERS"Flag

Name: David Forrest on Nov 4, 2002State: TXCountry: USComments: Hyperia is one of the only clubs in Houston where I can just walk in the door and have no previous knowledge of who's playing and KNOW that regardless it will be good music. The fact that someone on the "outside" wants to take that away from everyone because of the actions of certain individuals is unfair and certainly illogical.Flag

The only club to still play true "club" music & not ghetto trash like other clubs. Hyperia is on the same page with New York City clubs, it's just a pity that Houston is to blind to see & cherish that!Flag

Name: Kimberley Kemp on Feb 18, 2004State: TXCountry: USComments: I have went to this club many times! I love it! I understand that there were problems with substance abuse and moybe others. But this isn't something that dosn't happen at any other place. I have gone to places that were worse in Houston. Besides I am a big fan of electronica and there are no other places to go that had such a great emphasis on the music and scene. I hope that you will take that into consideration and revoke your decision to shut it down. An a last note, I havn't been to another club since (in Houston area)the closure of this Historical entity for music. Thank YouFlag

Name: Carlos Tidwell on Oct 1, 2004State: TXCountry: USComments: Clubs like this one are few and rare found in this hip-hop over ridden city. Some of us DON'T care for Salsa, Rap, or Hip-Hop music. We like to dance with intense energy. For me it is an excuse to exercise. Without the music nothing pushes me to burn of those calories. I don't even go out much anymore because clubs like this one don't really exist in Houston catering to my music tastes. I however understand the dillema of the community because I too was sick of the "pushers" & "Tweakers" that ruin this scene with their illicit behavior. I'm sure a remedy could be found to keep the club up. Fix the problem you have 1st. If you shut it down another will just open later & possibly have the same issues. But all clubs have issues in my opinion to some extent. I'm 27/Male, Lab Manager for Optical company born in Germany where electronica music is proudly played in clubs. Thank You for your time. Good day.Flag
