We as members of Kingsway Youth Centre feel that closing this youth centre would be devastating and a massive loss for all of the young people who use this facility. The activities that we run for the young people help them in many different ways. For example the sports activities that we allow the young people to take part in and give them a chance to let off their steam. We also run a lot of different art activities that help people to be creative and sit down and be engaged in activities with one to one support they may not receive at home. Some of the young people use this youth centre as a break away from home life, where family life may be difficult and by getting a couple of hours away can be a positive and much needed. If they need support our youth workers are there to help them or just be there for a friendly chat. 

We feel that by closing this service down people could end up going down the anti-social route or be out on the streets maybe causing trouble. This is because they may get bored and do things they might not do if there was a youth centre in place.

I hope you understand our concerns and take time to read this petition and hopefully change or support us with keep the youth centre open.
