The petition

Any decent Illinois health care plan needs to fund mental health care too. Otherwise, the health plan is a mirage.

Under the Bridging the Health Care Gap plan drafted by the Community Behavioral Healthcare Association of Illinois, an additional 16,829 Illinois residents, of which 8,830 are children, will get care.

This plan will help people who are working to recover from mental illness and fighting against depression, alcohol and drug addiction, and teen suicide. They could soon get the help they need if Governor Rod Blagojevich and the Illinois General Assembly spend existing, unspent mental health care dollars. Now.

Once the legislature and the Governor give the green light, the $42 million designated for mental health can be made available and used to provide mental health care to more 16,829 people in Illinois.

If you agree health care must include mental health care, please sign our petition to the Illinois General Assembly and the Governor of Illinois.

Please do it now.

Please email family and friends this petition so the legislature and the Governor get the message.

Thank you for your support.
