All of you are aware of the crime that has plagued our area for months. It is evident that any change will have to come from us. I spoke at length with Officer Foshee last week who advised me that we are adjacent to what is considered to be the main concourse from two known high crime areas, Washington Oaks and Goldsboro. He says that 20th St is a known direct route from either of these areas straight to the other. He also says the crime that we are having now is probably the result of opportunity, that someone sees something on the ride through and comes back to get it. We are not going to be able to have a strong police presence in this area, so we need to take any steps we can to protect our homes and ourselves.
