The vice Mayor in the city of Maricopa AZ has decided to lease space to an individual who has decided that we need a smoke shop that sells synthetic drugs  in this city.Smoke shops are Not what a family community needs. It will bring drugs,crime,gangs and all that comes with that.I urge everyone to look up the effects of the stuff they sell such as "spice", "bath salts" etc, and all the other names that the "Legal synthetic Drugs" go by as long as they are labeled "not for human consumption". You can do an internet search on this and see some very disturbing videos on the effects that this has on people. The state and federal government have tried to stop this junk from being sold but the people who make this stuff change the chemical composition and it's legal again. I have a personal story,I have three adult children that live with me and last summer two of them were turned onto this junk by someone and it turned our home upside down.My oldest son was put into a psych hospital for two weeks and surely would have died if he hadn't received treatment. They would Lie,Cheat, Steal, and whatever else they would have to do including stealing from their family just to get it. It makes them very irritable and disrespectful to everyone if they cant get it. I have seen videos where people have killed themselves over this stuff, they have killed others also. I moved my family from Mesa to get away from it, as it was the only way since there was a smoke shop on every corner almost. It has a been a very peaceful time here until the smoke shop came to town.Who would say to anyone that wants to live in a peaceful family community that there is a need for a smoke shop that sells synthetic drugs  in Maricopa? We can watch this wonderful city go down and crime go up and watch families move out and drug dealers move in and let the gangs take over and recruit our kids and we can look back and remember what it was like before the smoke shop came to town.I am asking everyone to sign this petition so we can have the smoke shop relocate out of town. Today the owner of the "Smokers Edge" (the name of this business) somehow found out about my petition (before it was finished) and  saw my wife come out of the Pet groomers that is located in same plaza and verbally assaulted her, and called her scum and some other colorful words that I wont print all over a petition that she did not set up.The way he acted clearly demonstrates that he not only sells the stuff but he is also a user. it's no wonder he recommends this stuff  to all his clients,even the ones that are clearly under age. For the short time that this stuff was banned he still sold it "under the counter" to his "known & loyal customers" illegally.I ask you, if he will do this what else will he sell that's not legal and will he sell it to your kids?
